Sri Kadiri Legend Coin

Kadiri is a town in the Anantapur district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.

Kadiri is famous primarily for its association with Lord Sri Narasimha Swamy, the fourth Avataram of Lord Sri Vishnu. The town is a place of Hindu pilgrimage.

The name Kadiri is an alternative name for the Sanskrit word, Khadri, meaning canary wood or Indian mulberry

Konerirayan was a Vijayanagara feudatory who ruled an area from Kanchipuram to Tiruchirappalli. The coins are characterized by the presence of a bull on the obverse and the Tamil legend “Konerirayan” on the reverse.

Vijayanagara Harihara I coins

Harihara I (1336–1356 CE), also called Hakka ಹಕ್ಕ and Vira Harihara I, was the founder of the Vijayanagara empire. He was Bhavana Sangama’s eldest son and was founder of the Sangama dynasty, the first among the four dynasties that ruled Vijayanagara.

The early life of Hakka and his brother Bukka is relatively unknown and most accounts are based on various theories.
