Satavahanas, Pulumavi, 78-114 AD, Newasa
Region (Ahmednagar Dist, Maharashtra), Potin, Qtr unit, 0.83g
A most unusual coin with jagged edges and with the brahmi 'lu'
written in an earlier style. The outline of the Ujjaiyini symbol can be made
out on the Rev.
Fractional
units, such as this one, and also where the Elephant faces to the right, are
scarce/rare. The coin appears to be unpublished in standard literature (Mitch).
